This now means that both Smalling and Jones are United players and the U21 centre-back pairing will be completing the tournament together before joining forces again in the pre-season tour of America. The future bodes really well for United’s English youth with Jones, Smalling, Cleverley and Welbeck all looking to impress during this off-season as changes at United may mean they get their chance in the first team next season.
