The new United signing has just given his first full interview for MUTV after United confirmed that he became the third United signing of the summer. Take a look below for an extract of the interview and also for the link to see it in full.
With Edwin Van Der Sar having retired, you have some big gloves to fill but I presume it is a challenge you are looking forward to?
Of course. In my opinion, Edwin has been the best goalkeeper in the world whilst here at United. I hope to emulate him and spend a great number of years here and hopefully surpass his contribution to the club.
What do you hope to bring to the club?
I am young but I’m coming here on the back of two full seasons in La Liga in Spain, so I think I’ve got enough experience to contribute to such a big club as United and I am planning to work extremely hard to do the best I can.
What excites you about playing in the Premier League and do you think it is quite different?
I think there are differences between the two. The Premier League is known to be a more physical style of play. There’s a lot of high balls and a lot of play in the air but I do hope to adapt to that fairly quickly and with my own style, I hope to contribute to it being an all-round success.
