It has been confirmed today that Oliver Norwood has turned down a contract offer from Manchester United. Norwood spent last season on loan with different clubs, Scunthorpe United where he made 15 league appearances, scoring one goal and at Coventry City, where he made 18 appearances, scoring twice. The Northern Ireland international has been at Manchester United since he was seven years old, which must have made his decision difficult.

Norwood told Talksport: “I want to play every week like I was this season in the Championship, It’s been the hardest decision in my life for me to make but there comes a time when you have to be realistic.”

It is understood that the player now wants to look for a club outside of the Premier League, where he feels he will have more chance getting first team football.

All Manchester United fans will now wish Oliver good luck in finding a club and progressing with the rest of his career.
