Manchester United will soon complete the signing of 18-year-old Angelo Henriquez from Universidad de Chile in a deal estimated to be worth £3.5 million.
The highly rated youngster previously came over for a trial at United and after agreeing a preferred bidder option, the club have decided to take it up. The move will be completed after he plays one final game for the Chilean outfit.
Universidad president Jose Yuraszcek said: "Manchester United's representatives told us that it was fundamental for them to take him now."
The club said that the player was physically and mentally prepared to take this next step in his career.
Angelo Henriquez made his Chilean league debut this year and scored ten goals in 15 games. He added another four in the South American version of the Champions League, the Libertadores Cup.
When he does put pen to paper, United's strike force will be bursting at the seams - Rooney, van Persie, Hernandez, Welbeck, Berbatov, Macheda and Henriquez will all be wanting to get game time.
He will most likely go into the lower levels of United at the beginning of his career so that he can get some game time but from what has been seen of him already, he looks a real natural talent. However, the South American style of football is vastly different to the physical Premier League but with players like Morrison and Pogba leaving last year, it is good to see us bringing in youth to replenish the lower ranks.
