Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, better known as Bebe, has now officially joined Portuguese Premier Division side Rio Ave on loan until the end of the season. The 22-year-old attacker joined Old Trafford for £7.4m back in 2010 after glowing reports recommended by Manchester United ex-assistant manager Carlos Queiroz.
Since his two seasons at Old Trafford, the Portugal U21 man has yet to make a big impact on the team, being handed only bit-part roles in smaller cup ties as well as the occasional Champions league spot. In more recent times he has starred for the U21s, scoring plenty of goals.
Having played on loan at Besiktas all of last season, he tore a cruciate ligament whilst on international duty which ended his season early. Bebe aims to have a good loan to improve his development as a footballer in a bid to work his way into the Manchester United first team. He said: “I’ll give everything. I’ve come here to show what I’m worth”
Despite being labelled a flop by football experts, he is still in the youth of his football and strives to improve. With that in mind, Bebe could make his debut at home to Sporting Lisbon straight after the winter break is over in Portugal.
