Anzhi Makhachkala chairman dismisses Nani move

Anzhi Makhachkala chairman Konstantin Remchukov has rubbished rumours that the Russian side are looking to sign Nani this summer.

The 26-year-old played a bit part role in United’s campaign last season due to injury and fans have become increasingly frustrated at his lack of consistency.

But speaking on Twitter, Remchukov insisted that there are no truth to rumours linking Nani with a move to Russia.

He said: “The rumours about Nani are not accurate. At all.”

Nani’s most memorable moment last season was his red card against Real Madrid which is an indication of how little impact he did have on the side.

With just one year left on his contract and his agent confirming that the Portuguese winger may leave Manchester this year, a move may well materialise but it won’t see Nani follow Rene Meulensteen to super-rich Anzhi.

Other potential moves could see him move to Monaco but given that the club reportedly valued him at €10 million, I find it hard to believe that United will be able to replace his talent for the same price.
