David Moyes is intending to submit a third offer of £40 million for Cesc Fabregas according to the Daily Star despite the 26-year-old reiterating he is happy at Barcelona.
Many fans have been frustrated at the very public stance that United have adopted this summer because the club has been left with its trousers down after having two bids for Fabregas rejected.
Earlier today, United submitted an official statement after Fabregas shunned speculation in what was the first ever acceptance speech after being rejected by a player.
United’s public statement is far from defeatist. Respecting what Fabregas has said does not stop the club from making a third offer if they want to and at a Barcelona press conference, Fabregas was never going to announce a desire to leave even if it was what he truly felt was he?
Both bids were a long shot at best given how far back Fabregas’ association with Barcelona goes but if Moyes is seriously considering a third bid, it could get to the stage where United’s advances are embarrassing given how public the whole escapade has been.
