Gary Neville has been straightforward in his assessment of Adnan Januzaj and fully believes he could become one of the best players in the world.
There is no question that Januzaj is a stand-out talent and it was fantastic that United signed him on a new five year deal given the stiff competition for his signature from around Europe.
Neville is so confident in his ability that he is happy to put the pressure on his shoulders straight away.
“Adnan Januzaj‘s great qualities are firstly his balance, which is absolutely fantastic when he’s moving with the ball and dropping his shoulder one way to go the other, and secondly his effortlessness,” Neville said.
“He has the ability to drift past people as if they’re not there when he attacks the defender’s back foot.
“I’ve played at United and you’re very conscious of adding too much pressure to young players. However, I genuinely think this guy could be one of the best in the world. I think he’s that talented.”
The 18-year-old didn’t play against Real Sociedad or Arsenal as David Moyes has stayed true to his word of making sure he doesn’t get burned out too quickly or tire too early in the season but he has been a revelation since breaking into the first team.
Neville’s assessment is what all of United’s fans think and as long as he can stay level headed and continue to work as hard as he has done so far at United, there is no reason why he cannot become one of the best players in the world.
