Manchester United given boost in pursuit of German midfielder Toni Kroos

Manchester United have been given plenty of reason to suggest that a move for Toni Kroos is possible as he has had a breakdown in negotiations for a new deal with Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old also admitted that he has not ruled out the possibility of leaving Munich in the future.

“I am unable to rule anything out,” he said.

“I am under contract with Bayern Munich. Actually there are yet no further [contract] talks scheduled. I will therefore fully focus on the second half of the season.

“There are worse situations in life. I play for a top club, and under a top coach. I am pleased, and sometime in the future a decision will be made.”

Munich boss Pep Guardiola has also not ruled out a potential exit for Kroos. “He is an important player, but it can go fast in football. Here today, there tomorrow,” he said.

Now that negotiations have broken down, his agent Volker Struth reportedly told Kicker in Germany that there are no further negotiations scheduled and as Kroos is about to enter the last year of his contract with Munich, the club may choose to cash in on him instead of letting his contract run out.

Youtube videos never give the whole picture of a player but it can certainly showcase some of Kroos’ strengths and in many ways, Kroos is the complete midfielder. Comfortable tackling, shooting, passing and intercepting, he could bring so much to United’s midfield and if David Moyes is serious about the interest in Kroos, he would be wise to strike while the iron is hot following a breakdown in negotiations.
