Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos has confirmed he is happy with the German champions, insisting ‘one or two’ things had been sorted, but admitted that no understanding has been found between him and the club yet.
Pep Guardiola told reporters earlier this week that everybody at Bayern wanted Kroos to stay at the club and Kroos has always said he is happy in Bavaria but as of yet, Bayern have clearly not offered Kroos the wage parity he is looking for.
“We have sorted out one or two things,” Kroos said according to ESPN.
“Like I have said many times, I am happy at Bayern. But as matters stand today, we have yet to come to an understanding. But that can change.”
Things can certainly change and Bayern could (and should) give Kroos the wages he deserves but the longer negotiations go on for, the more intense the speculation will become that he could leave Bayern.
Kroos is taking a very public stance with these negotiations probably to exert some pressure on the club but as it stands, Bayern haven’t compromised.
