Predicted XI: Manchester United vs Olympiacos – Kagawa starts and Januzaj dropped

David de Gea – Onto the next one.

Rafael – Rafael is United’s only viable option at right-back.

Phil Jones – With Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans still out injured, Jones is set to start a third consecutive game.

Nemanja Vidic – The captain will probably be chosen over Rio Ferdinand.

Patrice Evra – Evra will definitely be selected ahead of Alex Buttner on Wednesday.

Michael Carrick – United’s number one midfielder will probably keep his spot for the game against Olympiacos despite indifferent performances this season.

Ryan Giggs – Giggs has been on the margins of the starting XI since the turn of the year but may be called upon to provide an experienced, attacking head on Wednesday night.

Antonio Valencia – Valencia has been a regular feature in Europe this season and may get a chance to start again on the right on Wednesday.

Wayne Rooney – Rooney appears to be the only Red showing any heart at the moment and a similar hearty performance on Wednesday could help drag the team to a victory.

Shinji Kagawa – David Moyes said in his press conference Kagawa will play on Wednesday and in the absence of Juan Mata, this should be from the start.

Robin van Persie – In a game that needs goals, Moyes would have to be a very brave man not to start Van Persie even in his current form.

Formation: 4-4-1-1

The inclusion of Kagawa and Valencia has been common in Europe this season and Moyes may revert to that trusted attacking set-up again. Danny Welbeck, Adnan Januzaj and Ashley Young and perhaps even Nani will all be pushing for attacking berths too as Moyes faces increased pressure not just on results, but also on which players to pick.
