Bayern Munich suffer double injury blow ahead of Manchester United game

Just like Manchester United, Bayern Munich’s injury list is mounting ahead of the return leg on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Tom Starke and winger Xherdan Shaqhiri have been ruled out of the tie to join Thiago, Diego Contento, Tom Strong, Lukas Raeder and Holger Badstuber on the sidelines.

Although that list of injuries, combined with the fact that Javi Martinez and Bastian Schweinsteiger are suspended, does take away some of Bayern Munich’s strength in depth, their squad is still very strong.

The game on Wednesday is the biggest game of the season for both Manchester United and Bayern Munich. For United, it is a chance to salvage something from a diabolical season and for Bayern it has been their main focus for a long time, having realistically wrapped up the Bundesliga title a long time ago.

At Old Trafford, Bayern Munich put Manchester United under pressure from the start and at home at the Allianz Arena, we can expect more of the same.
