Juan Mata was officially named man of the match for his performance against Newcastle United today after receiving a landslide 75% of the vote.
With two goals and an assist, the Spaniard was the linchpin for Manchester United and Newcastle’s defence simply couldn’t stop him.
After his performance against Aston Villa last week, Mata really built on it today in St James’ Park and put in his best performance in a United shirt so far.
Here’s what some United fans had to say on how Mata played today on Twitter.
Two goals and a classy performance. @juanmata8 is my man of the match. We'll never die.

Great anticipation by Mata to get onto overhit pass by Hernandez & the composure to finish it too. Lovely.

Mata is really starting to look settled at Manchester United and his recent performances are showing why he commanded such a high price tag.
In his natural position, Mata has flourished and if David Moyes wants to get the best out of him, he has to play Mata there more often.
