Nani’s agent Andrea Pastorello has said that it is likely he will leave Manchester United in the summer.
The 27-year-old returned to action this weekend against Newcastle after three months on the sideline through injury and speaking to Violanews.com, Pastorello has hinted this will be his last season at Old Trafford but admitted wages could be a stumbling block for a move to Fiorentina where United have currently sent Anderson on loan.
“Nani is a very important player and at this time the only thing I can say is that he is likely to leave Manchester,” he said.
“The problem for Fiorentina and other Italian clubs is the player’s salary. But we will evaluate all bids.
“Our relationship with United is great. Fiorentina have to speak with Manchester United about Anderson and maybe there will be an opportunity to talk about Nani too.”
Nani’s departure was always going to be a possibility in the summer given how little he has been involved in the past two seasons after being blighted by injury and now that Pastorello has said that, the only issue would be what club is willing to pay his wages.
On his day, Nani is a world beater and he is certainly good enough to play for a better team than Fiorentina and he’ll want to use the World Cup as a place he can put himself in the shop window.
One strange point to note about these quotes is that Nani is supposed to be a client of super agent Jorge Mendes, not Pastorello.
