Borussia Dortmund were going to make an approach to Manchester United for Shinji Kagawa but have decided to back down because he wants to remain at Old Trafford, according to ESPN’s Raphael Honigstein.
Kagawa has started to blossom this season alongside Juan Mata and there is belief among United fans that, given the right position and players around him, Kagawa can really become a world class player again.
It’s good to hear that Kagawa is ready to commit his future to United despite our current situation as underneath David Moyes, he has not got as many opportunities as he would have liked.
However, it hasn’t stopped him from feeling that United is the right club for him.
Was told today that Dortmund were lining up an official bid for Kagawa. (NOT a swap) Won't happen now – Shinji wants to stay.

There were points when Kagawa was seen by United fans as someone who was a great player but just simply didn’t fit into United’s team. That’s all changed now and with a potential new manager on the way in this week, Kagawa will be buoyed by the possibility that he could take up a more important role on a permanent basis under a new manager.
