Louis van Gaal‘s job at Manchester United would be no small feat if he was appointed this summer.
After the season we have had, there are huge problems with the squad, none moreso than in central midfield, and Van Gaal is interested at bringing in two players who would transform our side – Toni Kroos and Kevin Strootman.
Neither need any introduction. Last summer, United were heavily linked with Strootman before he chose to move to Roma, where he has enjoyed an excellent season that his seen his stock on the European scene rise dramatically.
He would be one of Holland’s main players at the World Cup if not for a cruel injury he sustained.
As for Kroos, he’d help transform United’s midfield back into what it was years ago – dominant, controlling and effective.
Truth be told, both targets are going to be very difficult to get but Van Gaal gave Kroos his debut and made Strootman his Dutch captain at one stage, so there’s certainly a working relationship there.
If Van Gaal was able to secure both, or either, of these players, he would have gone some way to repair the gaps left by Moyes and Woodward’s abysmal season in the Premier League.
Keep an eye out on The Peoples Person this week for some more information about Kroos, Strootman and other players linked to Manchester United.
