Manchester United are running out of options with managers

Carlo Ancelotti has denied having any contact with Manchester United this week and once again distanced himself from the vacant job.

Alongside Louis van Gaal, Ancelotti was considered one of the strongest candidates for the job after Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho ruled themselves out of the running.

However, Ancelotti insists he is happy at Real Madrid and is not interested in becoming United’s new manager.

“I respect everyone,” said Ancelotti.

“I haven’t had contact with Manchester United.

“I want to stay at Real Madrid for a long time. It’s strange to discuss my future in the middle of a Champions League semi-final.”

Ancelotti might feel comfortable ruling out the United job ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final but if they fail to reach the final, Ancelotti’s job will be under threat.

However, do United want to sign a manager who would only join the club as a second choice? No thanks.
