Manchester United make moves to ensure Pogba situation isn’t repeated

Manchester United are set to hand new contracts to academy duo James Wilson and Tom Lawrence to secure their long term futures, according to The Telegraph.

Both players have been thrust into the limelight following their fantastic debut performances against Hull City and because of that, there are plenty of clubs lurking in the background.

Even prior to his performance against Hull, contract negotiations were underway for Lawrence and as for Wilson, you’d be more than surprised if United weren’t doing something behind the scenes earlier this season for that too.

However, it’s about time United started to pull their finger out when it comes to securing the long term futures of young players as early as possible like we did with Adnan Januzaj.

Losing the likes of Paul Pogba and Mats Moller Daehli from our academy was a bitter pill to swallow but now, it looks like we’re being more decisive to secure the future of youngsters. Also, the fact they are getting game time will help persuade their decision.
