Louis van Gaal makes Holland announcement

Robin van Persie has been included in Louis van Gaal‘s Holland squad for the World Cup but there is no place in the 30 for Alexander Buttner.

Van Gaal has named a relatively young provisional squad but the usual suspects like Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart and Nigel de Jong are still there.

In regards to his decisions with Van Persie and Buttner, there are no surprises.

Van Persie is Holland’s go to guy and is likely to captain them out in Brazil while Buttner hasn’t done enough to warrant a place on the plane and the jury is still out as to whether he warrants a place in Manchester United’s squad.

With an up and down season behind him, Van Persie will be raring to go out in Brazil. From a United fan’s perspective, it will be exciting to see how he plays under Van Gaal as ahead of next year, we want Van Persie firing on all cylinders again.

Here is the Holland squad in full.
