Manchester United’s Jack Rudge has confirmed on his Instagram that he is going to leave this summer to end a 13 year association with the club.
The 19-year-old midfielder didn’t have too much opportunity at United this season due to injury problems and he was ineligible for the UEFA Youth League.
He did spend a period on loan at Torquay United but returned to United having not been involved in any of their match day squads so it was an unsuccessful loan spell for Rudge.
Last season, Rudge made 21 appearances for United’s Under-18s but only played 20 minutes for the Under-21s this season.
His exit joins the likes of Jonny Sutherland, Nicholas Ioannou, Ben Barber and Jack Barmby who are all leaving United this year.
“Sad to be leaving #mufc after 13 years at the club, big thanks to everyone who iv met there, players and staff for making me the player/person I am today ⚽️ #nextstep #movingon”
It’s a real shame seeing these youngsters who have spent effectively all of their lives working towards the first team but if they feel better chances lie elsewhere, then it is in their best interest to chase those opportunities, so good luck to Rudge wherever he goes.
