No sooner after we published a piece suggesting that Cesc Fabregas’ current situation at Barcelona means a move could potentially happen, Spanish newspaper SPORT has a front page cover claiming “Manchester United are willing to pay €53m for Fabregas.”
Marca reported a €40m price tag earlier this week but SPORT has gone with reports from the Daily Mail and even reported a different price of €55m in the article online in comparison to the €53m from the front page.
Our earlier article took a closer look at Fabregas’ circumstances which showed why interest from United could be justified this year but there is every chance this could be the second coming of a Fabregas saga.
Last summer, two undervalued bids from David Moyes’ boys saw us fail to land Fabregas. Is Louis van Gaal considering going back again?

Of course, when it comes to SPORT, as is the case with a lot of newspapers, they were wide of the mark a lot last summer so you have to consider everything past face value.
That being said, it is clear from the outset that this summer will see Fabregas heavily linked with United again. Whether there is a different outcome to the saga remains to be seen but we’ll keep you up to date on all the latest goings on.
