David de Gea has taken up the role of being one of Manchester United’s chief scouts again this summer.
Last year, he tried and failed to persuade Thiago Alcantara that Old Trafford was the right place, was asked to woo Koke after United were credited with an interest and now he is having a word in the ear of Cesc Fabregas.
“I’ve tried to convince Cesc to come but it’s difficult. He feels very good in Barcelona. It is his home,” De Gea said, with his tongue firmly in his cheek.
Surely all Fabregas has to do is take a moment to look at how happy Mata and De Gea are? Then he’ll want to get straight in on the action.
Hopefully De Gea’s powers of persuasion have improved since last year.
