Barcelona are prepared to sell Cesc Fabregas for £30m this summer and have told Premier League clubs he is available, according to The Telegraph.
Although Barcelona’s president firmly said that Fabregas was not for sale this year, these fresh reports suggest that he is being actively offered to clubs who want him at a price of £30m.
“Sky sources” also broke the news at the same time, which effectively means their sources are The Telegraph in this instance.
If Fabregas really is available for £30m, then it is an absolute no brainer – pay the full asking price immediately.
There’s no two ways about it. There are few better central midfielders who would be available this summer, and available at that price.
The likes of Koke and Toni Kroos would be better options but it seems neither Atletico nor Bayern Munich have any intention of selling which makes it impossible to buy either.
However, if Fabregas is not in Barcelona’s plans, then United need to jump right to the front of the queue for him. It would be ludicrous if any other Premier League club signed him ahead of us unless it was Arsenal but they are going to be more interested in signing a striker rather than the type of midfielder they already have in abundance.
Van Gaal, sign him up.
