Manchester United starlet Tom Lawrence is set to sign a new long-term deal with the club to remain at Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports.
Lawrence, 20, broke into the first team at the tail end of last season and received plaudits for his debut against Hull City, something which will no doubt have contributed to the offer a long-term deal as he is an excellent prospect for United.
Having spent time on loan last season at Yeovil and Carlisle, Lawrence earned his debut through strong performances and it looks like United are making moves to secure his long term future at the club, something which should fill him with confidence.
Unfortunately for Lawrence, injury prevented him from being part of the US Tour but with this long-term deal in the pipeline, he’ll have plenty of time to impress new boss Louis van Gaal.
The youth teams at United are considered a long-term project by Van Gaal but with so many youngsters like Lawrence who are on the cusp of breaking into the senior team on a regular basis, the future looks bright for United’s youngsters.
