Last week, La Stampa said Arturo Vidal wanted to join Manchester United and intimated Juventus were just waiting for the right offer to come in before letting the Chilean midfielder leave.
Now, La Stampa is claiming Vidal's agent has agreed a deal in principle for Vidal to be paid €12m a year by United which would work out at £182,000 a week, money that would make him one of the highest earners at Old Trafford.
It's a lot of money but you pay for what you get and if the likes of Ashley Young can earn £120,000 a week at United, those sorts of wages for one of the best central midfielders in the world seems fair.
The reports from Italy have been picked up by The Independent but in contrast, ESPN say United have not even made a bid for Vidal, let alone agreeing terms on a contract, so there is still an element of confusion with reports.
Vidal being out on tour with Juventus in Asia, where he is yet to play, hasn't slowed down reports of developments over his future and it's unlikely to as with only a few weeks left of the transfer window, anything could still happen at this stage.
