Jesse Lingard leaves hospital on crutches with injury

Jesse Lingard was today pictured leaving Bridgewater Hospital on crutches following an injury he sustained against Swansea at the weekend.

Lingard was substituted just 24 minutes into his full senior debut after going down under a challenge as he was unable to continue and it is a real blow for the 21-year-old.

At this stage, it isn’t known how long Lingard’s injury will keep him out for and he joins a mounting list of first-team players who are now injured at United.

Lingard played in an unorthodox wing-back role against Swansea and his injury leaves United with very few options at the back thanks to other injuries to Luke Shaw, Rafael and Antonio Valencia.

Lingard will be hopeful that his injury won’t keep him sidelined for too long as the 21-year-old has had to wait a long time for his opportunity with the first-team.
