After a glimpse of what Angel Di Maria can do on his debut during a frustrating 0-0 at Burnley two weeks ago, Manchester United’s record signing was on-song for his Old Trafford bow.
The 26-year-old scored one before having a hand in two further goals as United won 4-0 against Queens Park Rangers.
Di Maria’s pace, skill and overall talent was evident before he scored the opener when his free-kick found its way into the corner of Robert Green’s net after evading everyone in the penalty area.
Di Maria also began the move for the third goal which ended in Herrera returning the favour for captain Rooney who scored United’s third of the game.
In the second half the former Real Madrid star continued to daze the QPR defence with a stunning outside of the boot ball for Robin van Persie before assisting United’s final of goal of the afternoon which was finished off by Juan Mata.
United’s new No.7’s touch was flawless throughout the afternoon, often getting a cheer out of the 75,000 strong crowd for flicks, passes and basically any time the Argentinian touched the ball on a satisfactory day all around for the club.
