Radamel Falcao celebrated making his Manchester United debut by going out to dinner with Robin van Persie and Patrick Kluivert last night.
The 28-year-old came on to a standing ovation and almost marked with a goal late on but the onrushing Robert Green managed to smother his shot to deny Falcao the perfect debut.
Falcao’s reception at Old Trafford was magnificent and the home crowd certainly made him feel right at home straight away.
It’s a shame he couldn’t mark his debut with a goal but with a player of his quality, it will only take one goal to open the floodgates.
As for Van Persie, another relatively subdued performance raises question marks over whether he is anywhere near close to full fitness and it puts his position in United’s starting XI in question.
Louis van Gaal has to try and fit so much attacking talent into the team and going by current performances, Van Persie looks the most likely player to miss out.
