Predicted XI: Leicester City vs Manchester United – Falcao starts, Van Persie benched

David de Gea – De Gea continues to be the most obvious name on the teamsheet.

Rafael – It was good to see Rafael return to action last weekend and he is set to start ahead of Antonio Valencia at right-back.

Jonny Evans – Evans should start ahead of Chris Smalling who has only just returned to fitness.

Tyler Blackett – Blackett continues to impress and will get another chance to shine on Sunday.

Marcus Rojo – A good display last weekend means Rojo is set to get the nod at left-back ahead of Luke Shaw.

Daley Blind – Blind is likely to start in favour of Darren Fletcher in a deep-lying midfield role.

Ander Herrera – One of United’s men of the match last weekend will be hoping to cement his midfield place with continued impressive performances.

Angel di Maria – The Argentine is a no-brainer for Sunday.

Juan Mata – After a goal and decent performance last weekend, Mata is likely to continue for now in the No.10 role but in such a competitive position he will need to put in another good display.

Wayne Rooney – It would be a surprise to United’s captain dropped.

Falcao – A decent cameo last weekend, combined with Robin van Persie’s average form, means Louis van Gaal may start the Colombian with Wayne Rooney against Leicester.

Formation: 4-1-2-1-2

It is expected that Van Gaal will continue with the diamond formation after it proved so successful against QPR. It appears to be the most obvious choice of set-up considering the players United have available.

Robin van Persie, Adnan Januzaj, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Anders Lindegaard could form a formidable bench.
