Jonny Evans was pictured wearing a protective boot with some crutches after going off against Leicester City to give Manchester United a fresh injury concern.
Evans was unable to put any weight on his foot and was subsequently replaced by Chris Smalling in the first half.
United could now be without Evans, Jones and Tyler Blackett for West Ham next week after the 20-year-old was red carded in the latter stages of the game.
Following Evans being substituted, United were atrocious in defence. There was a distinct lack of leadership which contributed heavily to United capitulating in the second half to throw away a two goal lead.
Everybody knew that the defence was going to be United's weak point this season as the club failed to match their investment in new attackers by bringing in a world class defender.
Questions will now be asked of United's defence and rightly so.
