Arturo Vidal has insisted he never asked Juventus or his agent about his future this summer as he was focused on fully recovering from knee surgery.
The Chilean midfielder also said he had a verbal agreement with his agent that he would let him know as soon as there were any concrete offers for him but none ever came, despite him being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
“I never asked Juventus or my agent if anything was going on, I was focused on my knee,” he said.
“I have an agreement with my agent, if there is something concrete let me know. He never did.
“What would I have said to a huge offer from United? I don’t know, my family is happy in Turin, that’s more important than money.”
Vidal is considered by many to be the best box-to-box midfielder in the world and given United’s midfield troubles in a free spending summer, the links were always going to happen but a move never materialised.
Whether or not Louis van Gaal was ever interested in Vidal remains to be seen but don’t be surprised to see these rumours pick up again as we get closer to the January transfer window.
