Paddy McNair suffers hamstring injury as Man United injury problems continue

Paddy McNair has suffered a hamstring injury and has been ruled out of action for three weeks, according to the BBC.

The 19-year-old was superb on his Manchester United debut against West Ham last week and followed it up with a strong performance against Romelu Lukaku, so this injury setback is a real blow for his progress.

McNair has impressed Louis van Gaal since being given his opportunity after showing no signs of nerves despite playing in front of 75,000 people at Old Trafford in his first two appearances for the club.

The saving grace about the injury is that there is now a two week international break so McNair would only ruled out of action for United’s game against West Brom next weekend, meaning he could be in contention for the big game against Chelsea on 26 October.
