Angelo Henriquez called up to Chile squad after scoring six goals in seven games

Angelo Henriquez has been rewarded for his fine form at Dinamo Zagreb with an international call up to the Chile squad by Jorge Sampaoli.

The 20-year-old has scored six goals in seven games on loan at Zagreb including an impressive hat-trick last weekend and his call-up is richly deserved.

Henriquez previously featured three times for the senior Chile squad and has scored two goals, so he is already accustomed to scoring goals at international level.

It’s been a fine season of progress for Henriquez so far and he’s thrilled to have been given the opportunity by Sampaoli: “The boss selects players who are the best at all times, he called me and I have to seize the opportunity.”

Back in the summer of 2013, Henriquez was part of an impressive Chile side in the FIFA U20 World Cup and since then has continued to progress in his career.

Henriquez will now get the chance to play alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal in Chile’s upcoming friendlies against Peru and Bolivia, so it’s a great opportunity for him to really make a name for himself.
