Manchester United youngster Oliver Rathbone becomes latest hat-trick hero

Manchester United’s Oliver Rathbone scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday from the U18s.

It really was a weekend to remember for Rathbone as he only turned 18 the day before the game and celebrated it in style with an emphatic match ball winning performance.

All three goals were very different and showcased a great eye for goal from Rathbone which he hadn’t shown much before in his appearances for the U18s.

United players have scored plenty of hat-tricks at the lower levels this year as Will Keane, Adnan Januzaj and Angelo Henriquez (on loan at Dinamo Zagreb) have all scored a hat-trick in the past few weeks.

Rathbone has been at United since the start of the 2013/14 season and there will certainly be more eyes on him now after his hat-trick, so well done to him for putting himself in the spotlight.
