The Spaniard was expected to be ruled out for at least the West Brom game after suffering the injury against West Ham but having taken part in training all week, thanks to painkilling injections, is ready to give Manchester United a much needed injury boost.
Reports have gathered pace all week that Herrera’s injury wasn’t as bad as originally feared and it would certainly be great news if he was ready to return sooner than expected.
Herrera was superb for United in September and was just as important as Angel di Maria during the same period, so it was a real blow when he hobbled off against Everton.
With Chelsea and Manchester City coming up after West Brom, United need Herrera fully fit and by the sounds of it, the 25-year-old is ready to come back straight after the international break.
That being said, the final decision would not be up to Herrera as United’s medical staff would be the ones to judge whether he is fit enough to play.
