Nani voted as best player in the Portuguese League

Nani’s strong start to life back at Sporting Lisbon has seen them named as the favourites for the Portuguese League title this with a 65% majority in a vote on Record.pt.

Not only that but with five goals and two assists in 1022 minutes of football, an overwhelming 71% majority voted Nani as currently the best player in the league as a whole.

Far from the mediocre last two years at Old Trafford, Nani is tearing it up in Portugal and has got back to his best. There was always a chance the Nani of old could return having moved back to his old club and his strong start suggests that is certainly the case.

Of course, the quality of the opposition in the Portuguese League is nothing in comparison to the Premier League but it’s still good for Nani to be back playing decent football again.

The Portuguese winger recently spoke about how unhappy he as at United under David Moyes and said he’d be happy to stay at United if Louis van Gaal wanted him but equally so would be comfortable leaving if necessary.

From United’s perspective, Nani enjoying a strong season out in Portugal is the best possible scenario as it means he’d command a bigger fee if Van Gaal asked him to leave, so it’s a win win situation if his form continues.
