Paddy McNair returns to training after hamstring injury

Paddy McNair was back in training with Manchester United today after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The 19-year-old has been out of action since injuring himself ahead of the international break and his return will be a boost to Louis van Gaal given how little choice he had with defensive options.

McNair was drafted into United’s side to face West Ham and impressed so much on his debut that he kept his place for Everton the following week.

Up against Romelu Lukaku, McNair was even better than he was on his debut and it was a cruel blow he suffered an injury and has had to miss United’s games against West Brom and Chelsea.

However, McNair is now likely to be available for selection and with Phil Jones already back out with an injury, Van Gaal will be eager to have another right-footed defender back in his squad.
