Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has revealed Radamel Falcao motivates all the squad to do well at Old Trafford.
Falcao, who only joined the club in September but already appears to have won cult hero status among United supporters, appears to be quite an inspiration inside the dressing room.
The star striker has struggled for fitness since arriving on a one-year loan from Monaco and has only scored one goal but Valencia says the team are keen to see the striker back on the pitch.
“Yeah, he is,” Valencia said when asked about Falcao being a motivation for United’s players.
“He motivates all his team-mates and we are very keen to see him back in action on the field. We are all very confident he will do really well for us.”
Falcao returned to the first team with a cameo appearance against Hull City before a further appearance against Stoke gave hope to United supporters that their new South American hero may start Monday night’s match against Southampton.
However, further injuries and reshuffles during the match meant the Colombian didn’t even get a chance to come on but with more games looming on the horizon during a busy Christmas period, Falcao will surely be ready to play a vital part in United’s season when called upon.
