As 2014 draws to a close and the January transfer window looms large, the transfer rumours continue to roll.
In the previous weeks Welsh star Gareth Bale has been continually linked with a move to Manchester United, with many of the rumours discussing the possibility of David de Gea going the other way. However, as reported earlier Bale himself has poured cold water on talk of a move swapping Madrid for Manchester. Additionally Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has insisted that he cannot “imagine Real without Bale”.
United had been credited with an ongoing interest in Benfica star Enzo Perez. However, Perez has now been photographed training with Spanish side Valencia after completing his move. The Perez rumours persisted in the background but rarely had any significant substance.
The Telegraph claim that United will offer Mexican forward Javier Hernandez as part of a deal to take French centre back Adil Rami from AC Milan. The future of Hernandez appears to lie away from Old Trafford with Robin Van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney and James Wilson providing an abundance of striking options for Louis Van Gaal. However, Italian outlet Tutto Mercato assert that AC Milan will not let Rami move to Manchester.
In a story that seems to have started from the moment he arrived, The Daily Star are reporting that Radamel Falcao will be leaving United at the end of the current season and will be heading for the Galacticos of Real Madrid.
Falcao has started United’s last three games and appears to finally be establishing himself at Old Trafford, he is already a big hit with the United fans. Contrary to this story, there are suggestions that the deal taking to Falcao to United permanently may already be signed, sealed and delivered when the initial move to Old Trafford was agreed.
United have regularly been credited with intentions of acquiring defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window, with Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar a name often suggested. However, Goal.com are reporting that Vlaar is not aware of any interest from United.
The Independent picked up on Martin Odegaard’s visit to Manchester and took the story a step further by suggesting that United have made an official offer for the Norwegian starlet. Odegaard has gone on a tour of top European clubs and even if United have made an official move for him, it is likely Odegaard will have a number of offers to mull over.
United are also linked with a move for Spain and Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos in The Independent. Ramos is somewhat an institution in Spain and it is unlikely the reigning European Champions will be keen to part ways with one of their top defenders.
