Man Utd linked with Real Madrid’s Pepe

Manchester United and City have both been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Pepe by Spanish newspaper Marca.

The 31-year-old defender’s contract expires in 2016 when he will be 33 and Marca’s front page today is dedicated to his future.

With Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos as a central defensive pairing, Pepe is no longer the guaranteed starter he once was at Real Madrid and with his contract up next summer, he could potentially leave on a free. In the mean time, United and City are being credited as clubs who are interested in signing him.

Pepe’s agent is none other than Jorge Mendes who helped bring Radamel Falcao to Old Trafford, so United have already dealt with him recently.

Of course, this could be nothing more than Mendes creating hot air in order to secure Pepe a better contract in much the same fashion as Bayern Munich’s Dante did during the summer.

Do you think Pepe would be a good signing for United?
