Luke Shaw is in line to make his second consecutive start for Manchester United when they travel to Yeovil Town today for their FA Cup Third Round game.
The 19-year-old returned to the starting XI against Stoke City and lasted 60 minutes before he was taken off in a planned substitution. Given that it was a tough game to come back into after injury, Shaw played well and will be keen to build on that against Yeovil.
Ashley Young‘s fantastic form at left wing-back meant Shaw was going to face some tough competition to earn his spot back in the starting XI but an unfortunate hamstring injury to Young now sees Shaw straight back into the side.
Like so many other summer signings, Shaw’s progress at United so far has been stifled by injuries but United fans are keen to see him back to the sort of form he was showing prior to his injury against Arsenal.
The good thing for Shaw is that he’ll be afforded plenty of time and patience from both Louis van Gaal and the fans, so there’s no pressure on him to be superb straight away after his injury. That being said, Shaw himself will be keen to impress immediately.
