Palermo president says Man United interested in signing Paulo Dybala

Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini has said Manchester United are interested in the latest Serie A striking sensation Paulo Dybala.

The 21-year-old has scored nine Serie A goals and bagged himself seven assists in 17 games this season which has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Serie A side invested almost £10m in Dybala when he was just 18 and he has proved to be a stellar signing given his current form and the profit he will bring to the club.

With doubts over Radamel Falcao’s future, it is no surprise United are considering other options but Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini says clubs will have to wait until the summer.

“Dybala is worth over €40m, but I won’t sell him until June,” said Zamparini.

“Many foreign clubs asked after him, including Manchester United. I told the English side that he is not for sale right now, but we can talk about it again in six months.

“In my view, he is the best striker in Europe at the moment.”

Back in November, former United coach Phil Neville said Dybala was one to watch and United should keep their eyes on the young Argentinian striker.

Given United will have to pay £43m for 29-year-old Falcao, they may judge Dybala to be both a better signing and a much value for money signing in the long run.
