Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes the club are right not to let Adnan Januzaj leave on loan.
Januzaj has suffered from a lack of game time so far this season after a hugely encouraging debut campaign under David Moyes.
Reports earlier in January suggested that United wanted to send the winger out on a short-term loan but he started in the club’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
“He seems his type of player; a winger, technical and gifted as we saw in his fantastic performances last season.
“I think you’ll see him play quite a few games over the next few weeks. I certainly didn’t think they’d allow him to go out on loan, no.”
The 19-year-old’s lack of minutes have been a source of frustration for United fans given that he was handed the honour of wearing the no.11 shirt at Old Trafford following a fine breakthrough season.
Although Louis van Gaal clearly has faith in the youngster, entrusting him to play in big games against City and Chelsea, he just cannot find space for him in the side.
After a good performance against Leicester, Januzaj will be looking to push on in the second half of the season and play a big part in United’s quest for a Champions League spot.
