Wilfried Zaha has re-joined Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old was sent on loan by Louis van Gaal this season having decided he wasn’t ready to play for Manchester United but he won’t be returning having completed a move back to his boyhood club Palace.
Zaha was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last ever signing when he joined Man United in a deal worth £15m but it never worked out for him at Old Trafford.
Various rumours suggested it was Zaha’s poor attitude which blocked him from making it at Man United and given that he only made two starts for the club, there was certainly something which stopped his progress.
While most Man United fans expected to Zaha to be sent out on loan this season, it does come as a surprise to see United selling Zaha so soon.
Zaha has bags of potential and his poor progress at Man United hasn’t changed that. It will be interesting to see how he gets on back at Palace.
As far as disappointing signings go, Zaha is the latest name in a long list and it’s unlikely that he’ll be the last.
