Man Utd complete Kellett and Janko deals

Saidy Janko has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan while Andy Kellett has gone the other way and come to Manchester United, the club has officially announced.

Kellett, 21, joins as a relatively unknown player having only made four appearances for Bolton’s first-team and 15 appearances on loan at Plymouth Argyle this season.

Meanwhile Janko, 19, who joined Man United in September 2013 from FC Zurich and enjoyed steady progress up until this point, has been given an opportunity to impress out on loan by Louis van Gaal. To be given a loan move at 19 is a good indication Van Gaal sees something in him.

It isn’t known whether Kellett will come into Man United’s first-team squad or whether he will simply replace Janko for Warren Joyce’s U21s. Either way, the loan move will benefit Janko.

As for whether United gain from it, that all depends on how well Kellett gets on and potentially whether Van Gaal sees him as a player who could be in the first-team, which does seem unlikely given his lack of experience.
