Manchester United transfer news: Boonen signed, Carrick extension lined up, De Jong linked

Here is the latest Man United transfer news and gossip.:

United have signed 16-year-old Indy Boonen. The Belgian midfielder will be moving to Manchester in the summer alongside his family but will share his training sessions between Mancheser and Belgium up until that poin.

Seeing United bring in talented youngsters is always great to see as the likes of Paul Pogba and Adnan Januzaj goes to show how important it is to bring in Europe’s top talents.

Elsewhere, Michael Carrick is set to be given a one-year contract extension. His current deal expires this summer which meant he would have been available on a free transfer but United are keen to make sure he stays at the club.

He might have had an injury plagued season but Carrick is one player who United simply can’t afford to let go because there aren’t enough experienced members in the first-team squad any more.

Nigel de Jong has once again been linked with Man Utd, this time by claims which suggested he had agreed a contract with van Gaal’s side. However, they source Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf and there is no indication in either print or online of any such deal for de Jong. Make of that what you will.
