Manchester United’s latest signing Indy Boonen has struck a sponsorship deal with Nike.
The 16-year-old Belgian midfielder agreed a three-year contract with Man United this month and has enjoyed a whirlwind few weeks having now been signed up to become a Nike endorsed player.
The fact that Adidas will become Man United’s main shirt sponsor next year will not have an affect on any deal because there are plenty of current first-team players who are sponsored by other companies as well.
A picture of Boonen agreeing the deal with Nike has been released and it also offered fans the first opportunity to see Boonen wearing the club crest.

Boonen is expected to split his time between Belgium and Manchester until he can make a permanent move in the summer with his family where he would then be able to join the academy on a full-time basis.
Summer signing Timothy Fosu-Mensah has had a great impact with the U18s so far this season and Boonen will be hoping to follow in his footsteps next year when he joins Paul McGuinness’ side.
