Manchester United transfer news including Amos, Depay and De Gea

Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

PSV Eindhoven have indicated that Memphis Depay could leave in the summer. Depay has continued his impressive rise to prominence this season and has been linked with a move to Louis van Gaal‘s United. Depay would bring genuine pace to United’s attack and PSV have confirmed that after dismissing enquiries about Depay in January, he is likely to leave the Dutch club in the summer.

Mauro Icardi is set to sign a new deal at Inter Milan, according to reports. Icardi is supposedly a target for United but is set to disappoint van Gaal by signing a new deal at Roberto Mancini’s Inter.

Bolton Wanderers have extended the loan of Ben Amos by a further month. The 24-year-old keeper was brought in to cover an injury to Bolton’s Adam Bogdan and now Amos finds himself starting for Wanderers following an injury to Andy Lonergan.

United are interested in signing Barcelona’s Pedro, as reported by Bleacher Report.  Reports emanating from Spain suggest van Gaal is keeping a keen eye on the talented Spaniard. Pedro’s game time at Barcelona has been affected by the continuing improved performances of front three Neymar, Messi and Suarez.

United are keen on signing Raphael Varane, according to reports. It is widely expected that van Gaal will enter the market for a top class centre-back in the summer and £30 million Varane is a target. Speculation around Varane’s future at the Bernabeu has persisted over the past few months.

Jorge Mendes will fly in to try and finalise David de Gea‘s contract extension this week. De Gea’s future has been the subject of intense speculation and now super-agent Jorge Mendes will reportedly fly in to attempt to finalise De Gea’s contract extension at Old Trafford. Any new deal will likely make De Gea one of the world’s best paid goalkeepers.
