Manchester United loan watch: Nani has tough week, Keane scores again

Nani endured a torrid week as Sporting were humbled 3-0 by Porto in the league and were held to a 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg in the Europa League during last week. Nani completed 90 minutes and picked up a yellow card along the way as Porto ran out comfortable winners against Sporting. He was left bloodied and bruised in the 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg which saw Sporting crash out of the competition.

Will Keane continued his fine run of form for Sheffield Wednesday as they picked up an impressive 2-0 win over high-flyers Middlesbrough. Keane headed home after Lewis McGugan’s freekick came back off the post. He was substituted in the last five minutes to a standing ovation from the Wednesday faithful.

Javier Hernandez made a ten minute cameo appearance as Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Villarreal. Hernandez came on for Karim Benzema for the last ten minutes of the game and was unable to make any significant impact. The result allowed Barcelona to close the gap at the top of the La Liga table.

Tom Cleverley was back in Tim Sherwood’s starting XI but this didn’t prevent Aston Villa from slipping to a 1-0 defeat. Cleverley completed the full 90 minutes and picked up a yellow card in the second half in what was a poor performance from struggling Villa.
