Manchester United are to send scouts to watch Porto right-back Danilo ahead of a planned move for him in the summer.
Reports from Jan Hagen have suggested Barcelona will also have their eye on the Brazilian when he lines up against Braga on Friday.
Danilo, who has 11 caps for his country, has caught the eye in Portugal this season and has been an ever-present for his team and earlier this week, reports from Spain suggested both Man United and Real Madrid had already made moves for him.
Louis van Gaal is clearly not happy with United’s right-back position having rotated a number of players there this season.
Rafael began the campaign there but has not featured for the club since suffering an injury against Yeovil Town at the start of the year. Paddy McNair and Antonio Valencia have been used in his absence but neither have really made the position their own.
As such, it is widely expected that United will be in the market for a new right-back when the summer transfer window comes around.
